Photoshop & Elements Plug-ins and Filters
A plug-in is a single filter or a set of filters with it's own interface that can be installed in image-editing applications such as Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. A plug-in is like a program within a program. Photoshop-compatible
plugins are developed and sold by 3rd parties in most cases, not by Adobe. Always read the requirements carefully or download the trial version before you buy to make sure the plugin is compatible with Elements or other editor such as PaintShop Pro and Gimp. |

| Some plugins come with an installer which installs them into the Elements plugins folder. Others tell you to just copy the .8bf file(s) into the plugins folder yourself. (In Explorer - go to Programs > Adobe > Photoshop Elements8 > plug-ins) Do not have Elements running when you are doing this! Sometimes you have to restart the computer to get them to work. Plugins are accessed when you open your photo and then click on Filters in the top menu bar. They will be in the bottom section below the native Elements filters. |
